The wedding ceremony for Janice & Raymond was held offsite at St Christopher’s Catholic Church in Syndal. After the ceremony, the guests made their way to Lyrebird Falls. During pre-dinner drinks & canape time, Janice & Raymond had photos taken at the Woolrich Lookout in Olinda before heading to Lyrebird Falls to have photos taken in our beautiful gardens & the Sherbrooke Forest. It was a wonderful family orientated celebration and a pleasure to work with Will Chao (photographer) & Aldin Ortinez (videographer) again! Congratulations Janice & Raymond!

How they met:
Janice & Raymond met at university!

The proposal:
Raymond recreated the events of their first date at home on their 6th year anniversary, which consisted of fish & chips and the movie ‘UP’. At the end of the movie, Raymond appeared suddenly in a full suit, bouquet of flowers, balloon, a tiny box in his hand, got on one knee and that was that!

Special moments of the day:
“Definitely walking down the aisle seeing Ray’s expression at the church, as well as our first dance together, walking into the reception hall to cheers from family and friends, dancing with my parents! Too many to name!”.

Advice to other couples:
Don’t worry about what other people will think or say, just do what you want to do! Most importantly enjoy the day because it will come and go in a flash.

Lyrebird Falls favourite moments:
– Janice & Raymond’s wedding included four perfectly chosen dresses that Janice wore throughout the evening

The wedding of Ciaya & Brad will always hold a special place in our hearts here at Lyrebird Falls. Ciaya & Brad are a perfectly matched couple & share such a beautiful bond. Ciaya & Brad visited a number of venues in the Dandenongs but fell in love with Lyrebird Falls. It was a pleasure to host the wedding of Ciaya & Brad here at Lyrebird Falls and you will see why we loved this wedding below! Congratulations Mr & Mrs Wittingslow!!

How they met:
Ciaya & Brad first met when they played tennis together at 11 years of age. They reconnected via Myspace at 18 years of age.

The proposal story:
“On the 5th of January 2017, Brad and I were on a holiday at Byron Bay with a few friends and decided to have an early morning date to ourselves; after I had spent a couple of days complaining that we hadn’t spent quality time together on our trip, so Brad promised me a date – I was ecstatic and started researching cool places to adventure to. We woke up at about 6am and it was absolutely bucketing down, but I was determined to have my date, no matter what. We took the communal car we were sharing with our friends and went for a drive into the hinterlands to a waterfall I had found. Killan Falls looked gorgeous from the pictures I’d seen and did not fail to impress us in real life. We got there so early the sun had only just risen and the weather was absolutely miserable, hot but wet. I did not think it would be worth a swim at the bottom of the waterfall as the weather was shocking, so we put our hiking shoes on and went to have a look anyway. By the time we had made it down the track to the bottom we were soaked to the bone. Even my underwear was wet, and I had slipped on that many muddy rocks I was covered in moss and forest gunk.

Being completely alone at this somewhat famous waterfall in Byron Bay, covered in mud and soaked, I turned to Brad with the mentality of “you only live once” and stripped down to my underwear and got in – so naturally he did the same. As we were swimming around and enjoying the solitude Brad kisses me and as he pulls away, he’s holding my mother’s beautiful Red Garnet engagement ring and asked me to be his wife – the rest is history. One year later and we’re husband and wife”.

Special moments of the day:
– “Definitely when Brad cried while I was reading my vows”.
– “Walking back down the aisle as husband & wife and hearing Glenn [the Celebrant] announce them Mr & Mrs Wittingslow”.

Advice to other couples:
“Both of you grab a drink during the reception and disappear together for 10minutes; just sit and chat, or sit and sip your drink away from everyone and enjoy being married”.
