Check out their wedding video here!

This wedding was a perfect day for Rachel & Ben and all of their guests.
These two are such a beautiful couple; it was a a pleasure to be a part of their wedding day!!
Congratulations Mr & Mrs Ryan!!

How did they meet?
“Ben and I met a cricket function, which is quite funny because I really hate cricket. We became really good friends and started to spend a lot of time together over the year. Yet I still maintained that he was my friend Ben. I then went over to Europe for a 6 week holiday and realised whilst over there, how much I missed him and that I actually really loved him. I came home from my trip and the rest is history”

The proposal:
“Ben proposed on our holiday in Thailand. We were eating dinner under the stars at our resort and he very nervously got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him”

Special wedding day moments:
“Our favourite part of the day would have to be the ceremony and seeing each other for the first time. You truly are right in the moment and fixed on one another throughout the whole ceremony. We never really noticed anyone around us, as we spoke our own vows to one another and shared many tears. In our ceremony we also incorporated a special dedication to our Mum’s, where we presented them with a flower from my own bouquet. It was a really magical part of the ceremony where our Mum’s and had no idea what was happening”

A word of advice:
“Honestly, take it all in on the day. It absolutely flies by and it is important to take a moment with your new husband/wife and live in the moment. Best day of your lives”

Rachel & Ben’s review of their wedding day:
” Mikaela – you absolute legend! Thank you from both Ben and I for an amazing wedding day.
The day ran so smoothly! Your organisation and attention to detail more put my ocd at ease!
I knew from the moment we first met at the open day you’d be perfect for the both of us and you did not let me down. We couldn’t have asked for anything more from you and also all of the staff, everything was amazing and all the guests could not falter the staff one bit.
Thank you so much!
Love Rach and Ben xxx “

Dandenong Ranges Wedding Venue | Mel & Lucas

// Mel & Lucas //
* 28.04.2017 *

How they met:
“Lucas and I met at high school in our English class! We both thought each other were quite cute so our very good friend, also called Mel, encouraged us to meet and get to know one another!”

The proposal story:
The night before the proposal it was my birthday. We were at dinner with my friends and family where Lucas had sneakily asked my dad for permission (he had to do it there and so close so my dad didn’t spill the secret!). Part of my birthday present was a pair of aviators with a clue that i will get the rest the following day at 9am. This was Lucas’s disguise! I had many guesses but never guessed correctly. So the next day comes we are driving out to the City, still trying to guess what we were going to do. We arrived at Melbourne Seaplanes in Williamstown. Off we go on our ride, it was absolutely amazing. As we are heading along, i wasn’t feeling too well so we stopped for “coffee” and some fresh air. So here we are, we have landed at Sorrento Pier enjoying the view taking some photos together. As we are walking towards the coffee shop i notice Lucas wasn’t standing next to me anymore. I turn around to see what he is doing, as i turn he says “i have one more surprise for you” getting down on his knee; “will you marry me?”. I say yes, start crying and then realise that there is someone taking photo’s of us. When i look closer through her disguise, it is my favourite photographer Emily!! Knowing how much i love and appreciate Emily’s work, and had said i would love to have our moment captured one day, Lucas had organised that too!!!”

Favourite details:
“As the bride, of course waking up shouting “it’s my wedding day”, having breakfast with our bridal party and close family, dancing with my flower girl and puppy Archie, just smiling, laughing and being so excited to see my husband to be. For the groom, waking up and having his boy Archie there and all his excitement, getting ready with the boys, getting fresh cuts and shaves and the love note from his bride to be. Together, our most special moment would be the one where we see each other at the aisle, having our breaths taken away, and then saying i do. The friends and family with us, the fun, the food and drinks, the beautiful location and the team at Lyrebird for making the day just perfect!”

A word of advice:
“Everyone is right when they say the day goes so fast, book as much extra time for your reception as you can.
Plan some time just before you leave to take in the moment. Once you say I do and have had your photos, find a quiet place for the two of you for a few minutes, take it all in! And ask someone to take photos of you getting ready, with your bridal party, driving in the car, silly photo’s, and don’t forget the selfies with your new husband!! “Make a “getting ready play list”, I still listen to our playlist, it keeps the memories and smiles flowing!
And of course if there is something you are thinking about including in your ceremony or reception, don’t doubt it, just do it!!”

Dandenong Ranges Wedding | Madi & Davyd

// Madi & Davyd //
*29/10/2017*

The wedding of Madi & Davyd was a perfect celebration.
Their love story from the beginning is such a dream!
Congratulations again to Mr & Mrs Stockman!

How did they meet?
“Davyd was playing in a cover band at a nightclub in Geelong. I went to the club and saw him play — I turned to my friends and said I am going to kiss the drummer. Two weeks later I added him on Facebook and he messaged me saying ‘Were you the girl in the front row from a few weeks back? In the black dress?’. The rest is history.”

The proposal:
“The weekend of our fourth anniversary I came down the stairs and found a scrapbook waiting for me. Davyd had made it and inside were pictures from our previous anniversaries. On the fourth was a picture of Spice Temple (where we were going for dinner the next night) and a question mark. He said the question mark related to my gift. Davyd said he had placed the gift behind a photo frame of us on the shelf. When I moved the frame out of the way I found a piece of paper which said ‘Turn around champ’ (champ being my nickname). When I turned around he was on one knee and he proposed. We both cried and spent the rest of the night calling everyone we knew.”

Special wedding day moments:
“Both of us getting ready with our amazing bridal party; my girls helping me get the dress on; the first time I saw Davyd as I walked down the aisle; first dance; Davyd’s wedding speech to me; dancing with my dad and Davyd dancing with his mum; late night wedding photos; every moment with the bridesmaids and groomsmen; getting in to the car at the end of the day and resting my head on his shoulders. The whole day was full of so much love and happiness; we would not change one thing.”

Advice to other couples:
“Remember the day is about you two. I am naturally a nervous person but the moment I saw Davyd when I turned around the corner all of my nerves faded away because all that mattered was him. Remember that the day is a celebration of love. Nothing else matters and all the finer details will fade away. Don’t rush the day away — it will fly by and appreciate every moment. Finally, share it with the people you love.”

About the proposal:

Dandenong Ranges Wedding | April & Nick

// April & Nick //
* 02.03.2018 *

Nick & April tied the knot at an intimate ceremony at the beginning of Autumn. With the gazebo decorated in beautiful Autumn colours and the sun shining through the trees, April walked down the aisle to the man of her dreams; surrounded by friends and family, their ceremony was filled with love and laughter throughout. While these high school sweethearts lived out their happily ever after, they have a very good piece of advice for future couples on their wedding day, “Enjoy every moment!” Congratulations Mr & Mrs Lyell!

The proposal:

“We went to the Dandenong Ranges for the day and had lunch at a French Café in Sassafras. Then we went to see Olinda Falls and as I was taking pictures from the viewing platform, I turned around to see Nick on one knee holding my ring!”

Special moments of the day:

“I loved all of it but I would have to say hearing Nick’s beautiful vows and seeing him for the first time as I walked down the aisle.”

Advice to other couples:

“Enjoy every moment! We honestly had the most perfect day of our lives – in the end remember it’s all about you two! Definitely do your research and invest in a good photographer as we have been SO thrilled with how our photos have turned out even though we ended up spending more than we intended to. Make sure you ask lots of questions as the function coordinators are amazing at Lyrebird and will be happy to help with anything! They also are able to provide lots of little things (e.g. wishing well, table numbers, clear umbrellas if needed) so check with them before buying your own. Lastly, allow yourself plenty of time on the day to get ready as things do take longer than you expect so that way you won’t have that extra stress before you’re even at the venue.”
