Words of wisdom PART 2

As promised, here is Part 2 ♥️
We have put together some words of wisdom from a few of our
past couples with their best advice for your wedding planning ♥️

“Always remember that you are a team, work together, don’t fight one another fight as a team. Communication is a foundation in a marriage.”
Vanessa & Kane

“Your wedding day just flies by in the blink of an eye. Take a few moments at some point during the day to spend with your new husband & wife to just relish in that moment of happiness & love! Often you spend a lot of the day talking to & greeting everybody else, that you often forget to really be in the moment & enjoy the day with your new spouse.”
Alice & William

Caitlin May Photography

“Take every single moment in, no matter how small. Let your emotions be free and don’t be afraid to let them take over you. We highly recommend to take some time away from everything as a couple to process everything. And, no matter what goes wrong – it’s all part of the day and your wedding will be perfect.”
R&R

“Make time during the night/reception to spend a few moments just as a couple together. We chose to spend a few minutes capturing some night photos, with a sprinkle of rain, we captured some really beautiful photos and had a few moments to enjoy each other. During our reception we were so busy chatting with guests we really treasured those few quite moments together.”
Danielle & Brendan

Bright Light Weddings

“Relax and enjoy every moment. Don’t stress about the little things!”
Lyn & Luke

Ashleigh Haase Photography

“Enjoy every moment! We honestly had the most perfect day of our lives – in the end remember it’s all about you two! Definitely do your research and invest in a good photographer as we have been SO thrilled with how our photos have turned out even though we ended up spending more than we intended to. Make sure you ask lots of questions as the function coordinators are amazing at Lyrebird and will be happy to help with anything! They also are able to provide lots of little things (e.g. wishing well, table numbers, clear umbrellas if needed) so check with them before buying your own. Lastly, allow yourself plenty of time on the day to get ready as things do take longer than you expect so that way you won’t have that extra stress before you’re even at the venue.”
April & Nick

Perla Photography

“Don’t sweat the small stuff, relax and enjoy every moment because the day flies by!”
Jovana & James

Georgia Verrells Photography

“The day goes so fast- make sure you take some time for the two of you to soak it all in. Also have spare shoes!”
Louise & Luke

Bright Light Weddings

“It’s not about the small things like the signs, flowers and place cards! Your wedding day is about the love you and your partner share and the life you want to spent together, so remember that and worry less about everything else. Lyrebird Falls are absolutely amazing, they will guide you through it all and organise everything perfectly!”
Adria & Luke

“Remember the day is about you two. I am naturally a nervous person but the moment I saw Davyd when I turned around the corner all of my nerves faded away because all that mattered was him. Remember that the day is a celebration of love. Nothing else matters and all the finer details will fade away. Don’t rush the day away — it will fly by and appreciate every moment. Finally, share it with the people you love.”

Words of wisdom

We have put together some words of wisdom from a few of our
past couples with their best advice for your wedding planning ♥️

“Both of you, grab a drink during the reception and disappear together for 10 minutes. Just sit and chat or sit and sip your drink away from everyone and enjoy being married. That was also a very special moment for us. Helped us enjoy the moment more.”
Ciaya & Brad

Be Here Be Now Photos & Films

“Communication is key, so is laughter. Make sure you laugh together every day. This is a stressful time, plan in advance, every one will appreciate it. Never underestimate another set of eyes on something, doesn’t always have to be your bridal party either, a new perspective can help shape your choice in a way you couldn’t have thought of on your own.”
Hayley & Nick

Lionheart Photography

“The day goes by extremely fast and no matter how much time you have it still doesn’t feel like enough so take a moment to look around and truly take it all in. AND if you can, book extra reception time.. you won’t want the night to end!! It truly is the BEST DAY EVER! Photo tip: Take a group photo with each table, this way you’ll have a photo with all your guests.”
Rachel & Matthew

ATEIA Photography & Video

“Honestly, take it all in on the day. It absolutely flies by and it is important to take a moment with your new husband/wife and live in the moment. Best day of your lives.”
Rachel & Ben

“Make sure you eat!!!!”
Sarah & Daniel

Bright Light Weddings

“Everyone is right when they say the day goes so fast, book as much extra time for your reception as you can. Plan some time just before you leave to take in the moment. Once you say I do and have had your photos, find a quiet place for the two of you for a few minutes, take it all in! And ask someone to take photos of you getting ready, with your bridal party, driving in the car, silly photo’s, and don’t forget the selfies with your new husband!! Make a “getting ready play list”, I still listen to our playlist, it keeps the memories and smiles flowing 🙂 And of course if there is something you are thinking about including in your ceremony or reception, don’t doubt it, just do it!!”
Melissa & Lucas

Emily Howlett Photography

“Everybody says this and we won’t say differently – enjoy every single moment of this precious day! From that feeling when you’re about to see each other for the first time, to the rose petals hitting you in your elated face when you’re heading back down the aisle. Take a moment to sit back and watch all of the people around you who love you both, because they’re there to celebrate LOVE with you and it’s the best feeling ever. If you can book in extra reception time – do! You will appreciate every second of it. Finally, you do you! It’s YOUR wedding – there are no rules. Ditch the things that make you uncomfortable.”
Hayley & Ben

Be Here Be Now Photos & Films

“Pre arrange a time for you and your husband/wife to meet during the night and take a quiet moment for just the two of you. I feel like I hardly saw my husband during the reception as there is so much going on and so many people to talk to.”
Alyssa & Brody

Lovable Photography

“Don’t sweat the small stuff and enjoy everything as it comes and it’ll be the best day of your life. Take a moment to step back and look at your guests enjoying your special day.”

We hope you enjoyed these words of wisdom!

Rachel and Matthew’s review of their wedding day:

“We could not have found a better venue than Lyrebird Falls, this venue is absolutely stunning and the staff are fantastic! Nothing was ever too much for the girls at Lyrebird falls, everyone is so lovely and helpful throughout every step of the way. We cannot thank you all enough for putting together the perfect day! A special shout out to our wedding coordinator Mikaela who is absolutely amazing at what she does. Not only for putting together our perfect day but for being able to put our wedding stresses at ease especially the two weeks prior when everything was coming to the crunch! Thank you for not only getting my favourite dessert on the menu but for making sure I got to eat one.. or three of them before the night was over. You’re and absolute gem!! We absolutely love EVERYTHING about Lyrebird Falls, the breathtaking scenery, incredible food, exceptional service.. and the list goes on! Our guests loved everything just as much as we did.. especially the food so many compliments on how plentiful and delicious it was! Highly recommend this venue, our experience was everything we expected and much more! Thank you all so much! Love Matthew & Rachel xx”

How did they meet?
“We first met at a mutual friend’s New Year’s Eve party at the end of 2010. The night was made unforgettable when Matt attempted to take a photo of me and I ran away from him.. straight into a glass door. Matt made sure I was alright and then spent most of the night teasing me. Which started our banter filled friendship that within a year turned into a relationship.”

Proposal story:
“New Years Eve 2018, 8 years from the day we met. Matt had told me he was planning something special that morning and with my birthday being a few days later I thought it was an early birthday present. I opened our bedroom door to find a trail of red rose petals.. and I just knew! I walked so fast down the stairs following the rose petals that lead into the shape of a heart and ended with a table full of petals surrounding an everlasting rose where Matt was standing with the ring in his hand and our song playing in the back ground. I jumped right into his arms and kissed him before he even had the chance to say anything. Once I realised I jumped down and he got down on his knee and asked me to marry him.

Why did they choose Lyrebird Falls?
“I fell in love with Lyrebird Falls years ago when I attended another wedding although when we got engaged I actually wanted to elope. Matt suggested we look at some wedding venues to make sure and that’s when I told him that I always saw myself getting married at Lyrebird Falls and if we were to have a wedding this would be the venue. We still looked at a few venues however when we visited Lyrebird Falls and I saw the look on Matt’s face I just knew he had the same feeling about it as I did and this was definitely the venue for us! We both love the outdoor gazebo and beautiful scenery along with the stunning reception area and the indoor chapel.. Lyrebird Falls had everything we wanted and more.”

Favourite details:
“EVERYTHING! The day was absolutely magical and the feeling we felt on the day, it was like no other. So much love, joy and happy tears!”

Advice to other couples:

These two are the real deal! It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of Louise & Luke’s beautiful wedding day at Lyrebird Falls!

Watch their wedding video by Bright Light Weddings:

How did they meet?
“We met at a nightclub in Bendigo in January 2013. We were both on the dance floor and Luke spilt his drink on me. He then bought me a drink to apologize and we started chatting from there. I gave him my number and we went on our first date the following week”

Proposal story:
“We were in Bali in July 2018, we had been together 5 and a half years by then and I started bugging him about when he was going to propose. In true Luke style he shut the idea down saying we had plenty of time, my Birthday, New Years even Christmas. Little did I know he had brought a ring on the trip and had hidden in the lining of the suitcase. He proposed at a beautiful garden a few days later. My first reaction was “what” as I was shocked and then I said “Yes” shortly after. The best part was that it was all a surprise, that he picked the ring himself and how he hid everything from me”

Why did they choose Lyrebird Falls?
“We wanted to get married in the Dandenongs, Lyrebird Falls was always up there on the list. We had visited a few venues in the Dandenongs before Lyrebird and when we arrived we fell in love with the gazebo, gardens, reception area and the bridge. We had a few more appointments the next day and as we sat down for coffee we decided that none of the others would be better than Lyrebird. We booked our date that afternoon and cancelled the other wedding venue appointments”

Favourite details:
“Our favourite part of the day was when I walked down the aisle, and hearing the vows we wrote to each other for the first time. We loved everything about the day, we were so well looked after and we can’t thank Mikaela and the Lyrebird Falls team enough for that. We always knew we loved the venue but it was so great to hear how much our family and friends loved it too. They raved about the service, the food and the venue itself”

Advice to other couples:

We had THE BEST time celebrating with Hayley & Ben!
This wedding was full of laughs, love & legends.
Amazing photos by Be Here Be Now Photos & Films

Hayley & Ben’s review of their wedding day:

“There is literally one word for these guys……. LEGENDS. They where amazing on all fronts.
Mikaela and the team are awesome, great vibes, prompt service & amazing food. Nothing was hard and they worked with all our suppliers fantastically. Book these legends now!!!!!”

How did they meet?
“We met when we were 17 and living in the country. We were from different valleys, and Ben used the sneaky ‘Hey I just found I had your number, how r u?’ trick. Next came meet ups at local football games and a hilarious and unforgettable first date… the rest is history!”

Proposal story:
“There was a bit confusion here haha. It was set on the beautiful Whitehaven Beach near our 7 year anniversary, when I was sun baking and Ben couldn’t get me off my towel to go for a ‘swim’. He gave up and instead started reading a poem he had written which was in fact a proposal, but my sun delirium and Ben’s thorough job of throwing me off any scent of a proposal meant that I took a good 10 minutes to accept the fact that he was proposing. What’s more is Ben used a Burger Ring … a long running joke from when we were teens and I had told him that I would say no if he ever proposed with a Burger Ring because we obviously didn’t have our lives together. Burger Rings are now a very sentimental snack… haha!”

Why did they choose Lyrebird Falls?
“We walked into Lyrebird Falls and it instantly blew us away. We had looked at 7 other venues and this was the first one where we jumped back in the car, looked at each other and went ‘yep’. Best decision ever. It was everything we had been looking for in a wedding venue – the gardens, the fairy lights, the beautiful reception room, the incredible event coordinators… we could go on and on. The vibes were real and the attention to detail at Lyrebird Falls is second to none!”

Favourite details:
“Everything! We decided to do a first look in a quiet place prior to the ceremony, which was the best experience ever. Being able to see each other privately and have an emotional moment without all eyes on us really helped calm the nerves and then pump us up for the day ahead. Our brilliant photographers (Be Here Be Now Photos & Films) really helped with that and setting the scene for our day. Chilled vibes and go with the flow! We also loved our DIY “Photo booth” and Table Chart. We had a ball making these and having people appreciate that on the day was a good feeling. Oh and also our 2-days-before-learned-first-dance-on-YouTube was a bit of fun! (See we told you – everything!)”

Advice to other couples:
“Everybody says this and we won’t say differently – enjoy every single moment of this precious day!
